Leopard Cyber Academy (LCA) is a blended and flexible educational option offered to district and open enrollment students from grades 6 – 12. The online program offers students the opportunity to earn credits toward graduation from Liberty High School by working and completing internet-based courseware outside the brick and mortar of a traditional school setting. The program does include some required onsite attendance at the LCA classroom/computer lab to ensure timely mentoring and monitoring of student progress by the highly qualified LCA staff. The cyber program’s internet-based curriculum provides proven research-based instruction aligned to the rigorous Ohio Academic Content Standards and/or Common Core State Standards. Liberty Local Schools strives to provide rigorous curriculum consisting of courses in English, math, science, social studies and elective courses. You can learn more about LCA by clicking on the Links area of this page to view the new Apex Learning/LCA course catalog, request an intake meeting and review the revised Policy and Procedure Guide.
COVID-19 Closure Information
Leopard Cyber Academy will continue operating through the coronavirus pandemic with business as usual. Students are expected to work on courses daily as they normally would during off site days. The regular onsite Wednesday and Thursday sessions are postponed as well as student onsite participation on the half-day session normally held on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. There will no onsite availability during the closure. Cyber school content is available 24/7 for all LCA students off site at home or wherever internet access is readily available and safe from the virus. Again, students are expected to do course work daily in order to stay on pace and complete their courses on or before May 22, 2020. The onsite Wednesday and Thursday sessions will continue once the state’s ordered closure order is over and regular onsite school attendance begins. Any printed material needed by students will be made available on Google Drive upon student email or text message request to Mr. Jones (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mr. Russell (email@example.com) – these include Study Guides, Practice Activities and Checkup answer keys. Completed teacher scored work may be shared back to Mr. Jones on Google Drive, emailed or handed in onsite once the three-week building closure is over. We will be monitoring student access and progress on a regular basis over the next three weeks while the school buildings are closed and we are available for quiz and test resets as usual.
