Obesity threatens the healthy future of one third of all American children. Obesity rates have tripled in the past 30 years. We spend $150 billion every year to treat obesity-related conditions, and that number is growing. For the first time in American history, our children’s life expectancy may be shorter than their parents’.
We need to get moving.
Let’s Move! has an ambitious but important goal: to solve the epidemic of childhood obesity within a generation.
Let’s Move will give parents the support they need, provide healthier food in schools, help our kids to be more physically active, and make healthy, affordable food available in every part of our country.
Join First Lady Michelle Obama, community leaders, teachers, doctors, nurses, moms and dads in a nationwide campaign to tackle the challenge of childhood obesity. Learn more and join us.

mission
statement is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and
confidence to reach their full potential. We will engage our students in an
ongoing age-appropriate development of ones creative instincts, physical
maturity, self-esteem, cooperation, teamwork, and lifetime
fitness. We will set high expectations for our students cognitive, psychomotor,
and emotional development holding them accountable for their actions.
Through Physical Education, lifetime fitness will be promoted, while lifting
one’s self-esteem, encouraging them to be thoughtful towards others and active
for a lifetime!
The Students will be able to:
Demonstrate competence in motor skills and movement patterns
needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
Demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles,
strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of
physical activities.
Participate regularly in physical activity.
Achieve and maintain a
health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
Exhibit responsible personal and
social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity
settings.
Value physical activity for health,
enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction
We believe the
health of students and their success in school
are intimately linked. Students must be healthy
to be able to learn and students must be
educated to keep themselves healthy. Healthy
students generally make healthy choices, are
more able to realize their potential, avoid
risky behaviors, and cope effectively in
stressful environments.
We emphasize an active process
of becoming aware of and making choices towards
a healthier, more fulfilling life by giving
students the skills and knowledge needed to
establish and sustain a healthy lifestyle.
Using a
variety of educational
techniques including many
hands on activities we study areas of: Wellness,
decision making, goal setting, physical fitness,
nutrition, personal health, mental and emotional
well-being, stress management, conflict
resolution, alcoholism, violence prevention,
adolescent sexuality, medicines and drugs,
diseases and disorders, and more. Health is
learning about life, and having he knowledge to
live it healthy!
